Messing Up at Work

No one likes failing but we’re human and it’s gonna happen. Recently I had a workplace fail and to put it frankly it SUCKED. I messed up at work and I felt so incompetent. It made me question my whole ability to do the job. Lingering on the mess-up continued to affect my performance in a negative way. My motivation went down too. It is normal to feel bad after messing up at work, mistake happen to all of us. That just means that you care about the work that you do and take pride in it. But if you continue to dwell on it that’ll eat you up inside.

You feel as though your coworkers have lost trust in you but chances are they’ve been in your shoes before. In fact opening up to an older coworker you trust could be a good idea. They probably have plenty of stories where they had messed up. They didn’t lose there job, the world didn’t end. They simply learned from it and applied those learnings moving forward. The biggest thing from making a mistake at work is to analyze why the mishap happened and learn how to prevent it from happening again. Next time everything will be better. Don’t worry you’re human and we all make mistakes. Chances are if you work a corporate job the ramifications are pretty small when you put it into perspective. No one was physically injured, just your ego lol.
